bodies. The relief was instantaneous as the oil soothed our
burning skin, but the sight of my father, standing there
with a bottle of cooking oil in his hand, still brings a

tasked with picking me up from school. As the clock ticked
by and I watched my classmates being collected one by one,

was about to resign myself to walking home alone, I spotted
