Last Saturday was so much fun! My best friends Tommy and

Suzie came over to my house bright and early. We were so

excited because my mom said we could go to the big

supermarket if we finished our chores first.

We raced to tidy up my room, make my bed, and collect all

the dirty clothes. Tommy tripped over one of my toy trucks and

went crashing into my closet! He was okay though, just a little

bonk on the head. Suzie made my bed nice and neat with the

rocket ship sheets I love. I vacuumed the floor so fast, zooming

the vacuum back and forth. Finally, everything was cleaned up

just right.

My mom inspected our work and said "Wow, you kids did a

wonderful job! I'm very proud of you. Okay, let's get going to the

supermarket." We cheered and ran outside to pile into the back

of mom's minivan. I loved going places with Tommy and Suzie -

we always had such a blast together!

The supermarket was huge! There wererows and rows as far

as I could see of shelves piled high with every kind of food you

can imagine. We each got a kid-sized shopping cart and began

roaming the aisles.

First we went to the snack section because Tommy said he

was already feeling hungry. We tossed chips, cookies, fruit

snacks, and lots of chocolate into our carts. Tommy's cart was

getting really full of junk food already! Suzie wanted to go look

at the veggies instead, so we had to pull Tommy away from the

snacks.

In the produce section there were carrots, broccoli, apples,

oranges, and more. Suzie carefully picked out the best looking

fruits and vegetables, checking each one over before putting it in

her cart. I grabbed a bunch of bananas for my cart. They're my

favorite!

Next we rode our carts down the cereal aisle. There were so

many choices - I wanted them all! I loaded up my cart with

sugary cereals like Chocolatey Chocolate Crunch and Fruity Fun

Rings. Tommy picked out a couple big boxes of cereals with

marshmallows, and Suzie got some healthy granola cereals that I

knew my mom would approve of.
