Title: What My Family Does on Sunday Mornings
Hi everyone! My name is Lucy and I'm going to tell you all
about what my family likes to do together on Sunday mornings.
It's my favorite time of the week!
Every Sunday, I wake up super early feeling excited because I
know it's family fun day! I hop out of bed and race to my parents'
room to wake them up. Sometimes they pretend to still be
asleep, but I can always get them up by tickling their feet or
giving them big hugs and kisses.
After we're all awake, the first thing we do is have a big
yummy breakfast together. My dad is an amazing cook and he
makes the best pancakes, waffles, french toast, and omelets.
While he's cooking in the kitchen, my mom puts on some happy
music and we all dance and sing along. It's such a silly and fun
way to start the day!
Once our bellies are full, we get dressed and ready for our
Sunday morning activity. One week we might go to the park to
play on the swings and slides, have a picnic, and fly kites.
Another week we'll go bowling and have a tournament to see
who can get the highest score. I always cheer really loud
whenever someone gets a strike! Other times we'll go hiking in
the woods, have a bike ride adventure around the neighborhood,
or even do volunteer work together like picking up trash or
helping at an animal shelter.
My favorite Sunday morning activity though is when we all
work together on an art project at home. We'll get out paints,
colored pencils, clay, and all sorts of fun crafting supplies. Then
we'll each make something creative based on a theme chosen by
my little brother Tommy. One time the theme was "outer space"
so I made a clay model of a rocket ship, Tommy finger painted
the planet Saturn, Mom made a huge colorful poster of the Milky
Way galaxy, and Dad sculpted aliens out of play-dough! We
display all of our art projects around the house and it makes me
so happy and proud to see our creative work.
After our morning of playing and activities, we're usually
feeling pretty hungry again. So we'll head to our favorite family
restaurant for a tasty lunch. I always get chicken nuggets and
