Introduction.

Street language, also known as slang, is a form of

language that is often used in informal settings, such as

among friends or family members. It is often characterized

by its use of unique vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.

While street language can be seen as a way of expressing

oneself creatively and uniquely, it can also be seen as a

form of linguistic non-conformity that can lead to

misunderstandings and communication breakdowns.

Methodology.

This survey was conducted to investigate the use of

street language in a particular city. A total of 1,000

people were surveyed, with a mix of ages, socioeconomic

backgrounds, and ethnicities. Participants were asked about

their use of street language, their attitudes towards it,

and their perceptions of its impact on communication.

Results.

The survey found that a majority of respondents (65%)

use street language on a regular basis. The most common

reasons for using street language were to express oneself

creatively (45%), to fit in with friends (38%), and to show

solidarity with a particular group (32%).

However, the survey also found that a significant

minority of respondents (35%) have negative attitudes

towards street language. These respondents believe that

street language is a form of linguistic non-conformity that

can lead to misunderstandings and communication breakdowns.

They also believe that street language can be seen as a

sign of disrespect and ignorance.
