Language is one of the unique possessions of human beings. It is one of our
most articulated means of expressing ideas and thoughts.
Definition by Hu Zhuangling:
Language is a system of arbitrary vocal symbols used for human
communication.
Definition by Edward Sapir (1921):
Language is a purely human and non-instinctive method of communicating
ideas, emotions, and desires by means of a system of voluntarily produced
symbols.

Language is a form of human communication by means of a system of
symbols principally transmitted by vocal sounds.
Definition given by Ferdinand de Saussure(1916):
Language is a system of signs that express ideas ,and is therefore comparable

可称为“结构系统论”从信息论和符号学的观点看，把语言定义为“人类最重要的符号系
统”，这可称为“符号论”。
从人类学角度考虑，语言被视为“人类的行为、精神和活动，一种天生的能力”，可称
